Alex + Larry

There is an incredible amount of strength and power in the spoken word. That’s the biggest driving reason we chose to make wedding films over still images. So of course one of our favorite elements of a wedding is personal wedding vows. And it’s not for us, (although it does make for some very compelling video content), it’s for you. There is something truly special about writing vows and reciting them to each other, either in private or in front of all of your friends & family. However you do it, say them with your whole heart full of love. These words spell out your legacy in a way that nothing else can, and it will live on for generations. We are so honored to be able to capture and preserve that legacy for Alex and Larry. Pretty much every moment of this video you can tell by the way these two look at each other that they are so in love. Congrats Alex and Larry and we hope you look at each the same way always!

Erin + Chris

This day started off with magic, as I pulled up to the bride’s family home for hair & makeup I was stunned to see two young foxes playing in the front yard. I thought for sure as I got out of my vehicle they would be spooked and run off, never even giving me a chance to reach for my camera. To my surprise they just watched me as I fumbled to get my camera together. Once I was ready for them they just resumed playing – like all along they were waiting for me to capture them putting on their show for the giggling bridesmaids watching from the front window.

The magic of that moment set the tone & for the whole day, special little moments everywhere I looked. Catching a little cute glance between the bride & groom when they thought nobody was looking, some very special father / daughter moments, authentic laughter and big hugs all around. Add to all this the incredible space created at Machine Shop by Nicolle at Mother of the Bride Planning and Design (I mean come on, it’s magazine worthy perfection right there) add the luxurious floral by Arts & Flowers Design Studio and then top it off with Nora Events and Viva Knievel keeping the party going strong all night? Recipe for a perfect wedding day.

Kellie + Sam

Kellie is a dancer and Sam is a DJ. Eight years together began on a stage in St. Cloud and culminated on a stage in Minneapolis this fall. As the resident DJ at Mcrudy’s in St. Cloud, Sam was the mix master who’s DJ booth doubled as a coat check & purse storage for bar patrons. Among them as was a dancer who stowed her coat and purse with Sam when she came out dancing with friends. She stood out among the crowd and caught Sam’s eye. Kellie eventually found her spot on stage next to Sam both literally and figuratively. Their vibrant wedding was filled with dancing, laughing, singing and a ceremony consisting of a mix-tape type message with song quotes from Snoop Dog, Alica Keys, Sister Sledge, Earth Wind and Fire and even the Baha Men.

“We got to be together forever
And a dizzay (for shizzle)
Cause I believe in you”
– Snoop Dog

Michelle + Walt

We’re so excited to share Michelle and Walt’s beautiful wedding we captured in Chicago! Walt & Michelle have a beautiful story that goes back many years of meeting and clicking, but ultimately losing touch as they went about their busy lives. Until one perfect day, they ran into each other again shopping at @TJMaxx (yes the store) and finally their timing was just right and they began dating. Exactly 6 months ago before all their friends & family they finally tied the knot! We are so honored to have been a part of this very special day and wish #themendenhalls a long and happy life together!

Mallory + Ian

I’m always in disbelief at what amazing couples find their way to us, and these two are no exception. They are so adorable together, they are kind, stylish of course FUN! My favorite kind of people, and of course they also have a super cute story. Mallory and Ian’s Journey together started long ago, during their 3rd grade’s production of the Wizard of Oz. Mallory played Dorothy and Ian was the Tin Man along with several other members of their bridal party in the play as well.

Fast forward about 20 years later, on a cold winter night we were lucky enough to film Mallory and Ian as they shared their vows with each other, surrounded by their closest friends and family at Aria Mpls. It was this sweet love story that brought everybody together for an evening that was sentimental, full of laughter, tears, poetry and beauty. It was an evening we won’t soon forget. These two also brought in a killer team of vendors. We’re always thrilled to be in such great company on days like this. Designed by Rachelle at Style-Architects Weddings + Events, with floral and a custom canopy of greenery by Munster Rose and Phos Events. The party was Kicked off by Rock-it Man dueling pianos, followed by the Junk FM band who kept it going all night. Mallory & Ian, thank you so much for bringing us into your amazing world! Best of luck to the two of you!

Michaelen + Jared

As I was editing Michaelen and Jared’s video I was struck by how many small beautiful moments there were throughout the day. Some were emotional, like when Michaelen’s bridesmaids saw her in her dress, and some were hilarious like the best man’s large cutout of Jerod’s first selfie, but all these moments were so sincere and natural.
Each year we are in this business we have been able to better define not only our personal style, but more importantly what we want to communicate through our films. This year we made it a priority to focus more on making our films feel more present, capturing sincere emotion and allowing some room within the edit to stay “in-the-moment” longer rather than always moving on quickly to the next fancy shot. I love that with this film we were able to create scenes that make you feel like you’re in the middle of it all, seeing a moment from all angles.
On top of that, these two had such a wonderful ease on camera and really made our whole day so easy & relaxed. We are honored to have been a part of this magical day, thanks for having us there Michaelen & Jared!

Maleeha + Ali

Every year we get the opportunity to film a few weddings down in Chicago, and this spirited multi-day South Asian wedding was one of the highlights of our wedding season. One of our favorite traditions in South Asian weddings is the rukhsati, the bride and groom saying goodbye to their families as they leave the wedding. It’s usually a long tearful event, and we are often able to capture some of the biggest emotion during this final goodbye. Maleeha and Ali’s rukhsati was so emotionally charged, and fun all at the same time. There’s was just so much energy and excitement as this lovely couple exited their wedding and drove away in an Audi R8 race car while surrounded by hundreds of their friends and family.
